Astrocartography

Astrocartography is one of several methods of Location Astrology, which purport to make out varying life condition through differences in location. Developed and popularized by American psychic Jim Lewis (1941-1995), astrocartography/astrogeography is a location astrology system that focuses on basics of the relocated natal chart, with these factors indicates on an earth map such as the "Astrocartography map." Lewis' Astrocartography maps show all locations on the world where planets were "Angular" (rising, setting, upper transit, lower transit) at the flash of a person's birth. An "angular" planet is mainly one sitting in a concurrence with the preliminary house cusps of the 1st, 4th, 7th, and 10th houses, called the "angular houses." With Astrocartography, lines pinched on a world map show where these factors happen for an individual throughout relocation.

According to Astrocartography assumption, if the human being were born at any of these locations, the consequent planet would be said to be well-known and important in the chart. Jim Lewis took this fundamental astrological idea one step advance by postulating that if a person later on travels or visit such an angular locality, the planet would have a comparable famous role in the person's practice of that location. These maps are widely used to plan for repositioning or travel. As such, they are component of a general division of astrology known as "repositioning astrology". Further techniques used for this reason include local space mapping, relocated birth charts, and city integration charts.

Lewis formed the trademark "Astrocartography "to refer to his map. Other maps like the Lewis map were soon developed screening further locational factors Lewis disregarded. One exemplar is the "Astrolocality Map" urbanized by Astro Computing Services of San Diego, which shows earthly sextiles, trines, and supplementary aspects rather than conjunction only. For example, having the globe Saturn in a "square" to the midheaven is considered to be a complex location. Or have your Venus in "sextile" to the midheaven improves reputation, etc. The Lewis maps ignore these locational aspects.
